Story Circles

NEW SPIRE ARTS STORYTELLER HEADLINERS SEPTEMBER THROUGH DECEMBER 2018 Set in a Story Circle Open Mic format, this is the perfect opportunity for you to try out your own 5-minute story in a group of friendly story tellers. We'll have sign-up sheets available at the event. September 23rd: Diane Macklin is well-known storyteller who brings dynamic, high-energy storytelling for audiences of all ages. October 21st: Jane Dorfman tells tales of dutiful daughters and wise women, faithful sons and wicked kings, magic skipping ropes and Irish heroes, the angel Elijah and the fools of Chelm, tricky animals and clever kids. November 25th: Nick Newlin is master of an eclectic performance career - 30 years as a Renaissance Fair circuit juggler (a.k.a. Nicola Whimsey), 20 years as Teaching Artist with the Folger Shakespeare Library, a MD State Arts Council Artist and Educator, author of the 18-book series 30 Minute Shakespeare. December 16th: Adam Booth's original storytelling blends traditional mountain folklore, music, and an awareness of contemporary Appalachia with a focus on the craft of story development and performance.
