Nyle DiMarco

Nyle Dimarco

We are proud to welcome Nyle DiMarco back to Frederick for the first time since he gained his world-renowned status. DiMarco is an actor, model, dancer, deaf activist, Maryland School for the Deaf Alumni, and former Frederick native who has used his passion for arts, community, and advocacy to empower audiences everywhere. Since his time in Frederick, DiMarco has become an influential leader in the deaf community, being the first deaf winner of America’s Next Top Model and later going on to win Dancing with the Stars. DiMarco has used his fame as an opportunity to advocate for the deaf community, being an honorary spokesperson for Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf Kids and founding the Nyle DiMarco Foundation, an organization that strives to improve the lives of deaf people all around the world.

Celeste Miller

Celeste Miller

Celeste Miller of Grinnell College, Iowa, will premiere a brand-new theatre work that she has created in collaboration with Frederick-based actors, dancers, musicians, and our very own Frederick Chorale.

In her work, whether solo, ensemble, community projects or in the classroom – she explores the possibilities of dance as a performing art, cultural practice, political act and a method for the embodiment of ideas and beliefs.

Dubbed the “Dance Whisperer”, Celeste has devoted her life to finding ways that anybody and everybody can find a way to experience the world, and express ideas through participatory dance-making.

Tango Mercurio

Tango Mercurio presents and teaches Argentine tango as an agent of community development. Because tango dancing transcends boundaries of class, ethnicity, and generation, our work facilitates greater cultural understanding and social cohesion. The community-based art form of tango plays an essential role in the overall health and stability of contemporary societies by providing ongoing public opportunities for creative engagement and collaborative growth. Homegrown Talent

Throughout the evening you will experience the homegrown talents of local artists paired with international stars celebrating the exceptional level of artistry in Frederick. Imagination is a powerful tool in the hands of these talented artists. Your support is an investment in the next generation of talent to be discovered in Frederick. Come be inspired and raise a glass of champagne with us over the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend 2019.

The Saturday performance will be followed by a VIP reception with the Artists.
