May 5 – 6

The Frederick Chorale sings American poems by established and emerging American poets set to music by revered and recent American composers. The pairing is natural, since great poetry expresses original thoughts about universal themes by maximizing the music of words and their combinations. The spoken poems will sizzle and pop as recited by Tuscarora and Oakdale High School Poetry Out Loud competition participants, including Tuscarora’s Grace Knor, the 2019 Maryland State Champion. Even people who think poetry is not for them will be enchanted by musical interpretations of poems that address human concerns, profound and playful.
