New Spire Arts is a new performing arts nonprofit with two locations in Downtown Frederick. A new performance venue and community gathering space, New Spire Stages, is under construction at 15 W Patrick St, across from the Weinberg. New Spire Stages is slated for completion in 2019 and will be a venue where we can connect local, regional, and national performing artists with the Frederick community. We offer classes and workshops for all ages and abilities at our education building, New Spire Studios at 115 E Church St. We have programs for infants through adults in music, multimedia, movement, and theatre.
We have three locations if you include our office, so we want to make sure you get to the right place!

You are most likely looking for our education building, New Spire Studios! This is where we hold all classes, workshops, and camps. Any public event held at “New Spire Arts” is held at New Spire Studios.
New Spire Stages – 15 W Patrick St, Frederick MD 21701
This is the future location of our flexible black box theatre! Key word “future” – you can’t visit this space yet! It is under construction and is not open to the public.
New Spire Arts Offices – 11 W Patrick St, Suite 204, Frederick MD 21701
Our offices are located on the second floor of 11 W Patrick St. We share offices with the Frederick Arts Council; our offices are in the back. Please make an appointment if you would like to meet with us at our offices.
Our founder’s vision was for New Spire Arts to be a performing arts hub, so while we cover all performing arts genres from jazz dance to circus, we do not have visual arts classes or studio space. We do offer multimedia classes such as podcasting and filmmaking, but we do not offer photography or other fine arts courses. Check out the Delaplaine Arts Center for all your visual arts needs!
Thank you for your interest in becoming a teaching artist at New Spire Arts! We plan dozens of programs for all ages and abilities in multiple genres every year, so we are always looking for talented artists with a passion for education. If you have an idea for a program at New Spire Arts, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so our Executive Director can get in touch with you. In an effort to build the New Spire Arts community, preference will be given to proposals that have a clearly defined audience that is interested in the subject matter and prepared to sign up for the class.
All students should wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle for class at New Spire Arts. We have water coolers where students can refill their bottles. Depending on the time of day and length of the class, students may also bring a nut-free snack or packed lunch.
Some classes have a materials fee that is due on the first day of class. This fee will be listed in the class description.
Multimedia classes may require students to bring their own video-capable device and have an app installed. If your child does not have a device, please contact the Director of Education.
Some classes do require other materials such as sheet music. We will ensure students and parents are aware of material needs in advance of the first class.

Yes! We are happy to take orders over the phone. Call us at 301-620-4458 during business hours and we will help you place your order. Please be prepared with the following information: the event/program you wish to purchase, your contact information, and your credit card information.
Education Refund Policy: If you would like to withdraw from a New Spire Arts summer camp, we are happy to apply your payment towards a future camp or class at full value. A full refund can be requested with doctor’s note. If you withdraw from camp for any reason other than a medical issue, a 50% refund can be issued up to two weeks before start of class/camp. If the class/camp is less than two weeks away, a 25% refund can be issued. No refunds will be issued after class/camp has started for anything other than a doctor’s note. If a student wishes to withdraw after class has started, the proportional payment can be applied to a future class or proportional refund is available with doctor’s note.
